Cities of the World - Beijing

Beijing is a well-known transportation hub in northern China with a well-developed transportation system. As an inland city, there are several methods of transportation from which to choose to get to Beijing: plane, train and long-distance bus. It is home to some of the most stunning architectural wonders in the world. The Imperial residences and parks such as the Forbidden City and Summer Palace never fail to awe visitors with their grandeur and Scale, military fortifications such and the Great Wall and City Gates humble visitors with their sheer scale, the walled hutongs which have been home to Its residents for centuries never fail to surprise visitors with what lies around the next corner. It is indeed an ideal place to visit all round the year.

Beijing is also a very cosmopolitan city with a very large foreign community (all the embassies and many of the major foreign companies and multinationals are located here). There is no shortage of cultural and entertainment activities, ranging from local punk bands to international operatic events. It is also considering a regional pollution-prevention-and-control mechanism to clean up the air for the Olympics. This includes information sharing and feedback systems such as pollution source monitoring and discharge data reports, air monitoring data reports, air quality alarm reports, and air pollution prevention and reduction conferences in various cities and provinces.

Beijing is also famous for its snacks and street food such as lamb skewers (yang rou chuanr), purchased at any corner where vendors set up shop. It is also the most developed educational base of China. There are also many libraries and a variety of museums offering citizens and tourists a marvellous opportunity to enjoy its history and culture. It is the model for a distinctively Chinese development, and is a city that has undergone drastic changes over the past 20 years; an example for the rest of China to emulate. These changes continue to keep pace today, and present a wide range of opportunities for foreign investment.

Beijing is far from achieving the ability to challenge the United States in the Middle East, even in a limited capacity. It is also pulling out the stops to land a Chinese astronaut on the moon by 2015. All these add up to a no-holds-barred power projection that is rare in China's 5,000-year history. It is the capital of the People's Republic of China and its political, cultural, domestic and international exchange center. It is one of the largest well-known historical and cultural cities and China's capital since the 15th century.

Beijing is the one of the birthplaces of Chinese Civilization and one of the six ancient capital cities in China. During the last 3,000 years it served as a capital for several dynasties. It is recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of the PRC, while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. It is a modern city with high-rise buildings, shopping malls and vast international hotels connected by an intricate freeway system crisscrossing the city.

It is a city of amazing contrasts - an ancient capital with many incredible historical sites and a bustling modern metropolis that hosted the 2008 Olympics. Upon your arrival in Beijing, our guide will meet you and transfer you to your Hotel. It is a cool city. Arriving at the new Its Airport, one of the first things you notice is the architecture...the new airport is the largest airport building in the world and is quite stunning. It is relatively dry, from July to September is the rainy season receiving most of the rain while the spring is relatively windy. Summers can get up to 35 degrees while winters can go as low as -10.

It is a city for walking. There are millions of bicycles and huge sidewalks in central Beijing and walking is still a major mode of transportation. It is one of the few cities in the world which is very hard to capture at once. To fully enjoy, understand, feel and touch the city of Beijing, you can choose Theme Beijing Tours. It is the direct jurisdiction of the central government, and it is divided into 10 districts and 8 counties. It enjoys a moderate continental climate.

Beijing is full of historical heritages. Have a good time.
