he US Revolutionary War is recreated at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park like nowhere else in the world. Virtually everywhere that you walk on these hallowed grounds were previously a battlefield of some kind. You can almost feel the ghosts of soldiers past moving around, and the grounds are some of the most beautiful country in the world. Add to this the outstanding visitor’s center that houses many artifacts and information, and you will have a wonderful place to visit any time of the year.

The Natural Science Center in Greensboro, North Carolina houses a different type of history… Dinosaurs! The main attraction is the Tyrannosaurus Rex display which is a 36 foot high behemoth. Along with this huge model, their are a number of fossils, and other science related exhibits. For those that prefer their animals alive, they also have a very nice zoo which has a black panther, jaguar, snakes, spiders, and many other lively critters. The zoo is indoor and outdoor, so you can still get plenty of walking in.

This addition to the National Register of Historical Places houses centuries of history. With a heavy concentration on local history, the building itself dates back to 1892. This museum is certainly wide ranging, as it houses artifacts related to the Arts, daily tools, military, medicine, toys, religion, clothing, and virtually everything else that was used back in the early 1900s and before. You can literally watch Greensboro grow as a society through the artifacts in this grand museum.

While the Guilford Native American Art Gallery does offer Native Indian crafts in the gift shop, it has a major focus on Art. Native American Art is exhibited here about five times in a normal calendar year, and the quality and breadth of the work is breathtaking. If you have a soft spot for Indian culture and art, you simply have to plan a trip to this wonderful place. The best artists in the world eventually make a stop here at the Native American Art Gallery.
